Episode 20: Dr. Christina Hong Huber

Dr. Christina Hong Huber is a first-generation, Asian-American, licensed clinical psychologist in the Washington, D.C. metro area. She has extensive experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, multicultural challenges, and adjustment and life transition issues. She works with older adolescents, adults, and couples from a variety of cultural backgrounds, particularly from marginalized communities, and utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach. Dr. Hong Huber works from a social justice-oriented and trauma-informed lens and provides culturally affirming and responsive therapy. She is passionate about understanding, supporting, and challenging aspects that make it difficult for clients, especially clients of color, to live their best lives according to their values. Through a trauma and culturally informed lens, she helps clients build hope and a better sense of self through acceptance, compassion, and empowerment. She also is board certified in biofeedback (BCB), an evidence-based treatment that can complement traditional psychotherapy.

Dr. Hong Huber attended the University of Michigan for undergrad and earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University. Prior to moving to the Washington, D.C. area and joining the Arlington/DC Behavior Therapy Institute, Dr. Hong Huber worked most recently at Swarthmore College’s Counseling and Psychological Services. She has experience at outpatient and inpatient hospitals, private practices, community mental health clinics, and a private school. She also has taught as an adjunct professor in the undergraduate psychology departments of two universities. She has published about anxiety and OCD, presented widely, and received awards for demonstrating exceptional client care and academic achievement.
